Allison Marie (Mickelson) Deutscher was born on April 7, 1976 to Lynn and Linda (Mitzel) Mickelson of Barnesville, MN. She attended Florence Atkinson Elementary School in Barnesville until midway through 5th grade when her mother passed away. She and her brother, Eric “Festus”, and sister, Sarah then moved to the Colfax-Abercrombie area to live with their father, step-mother, Donna Mickelson, step-sister, Tammy Sellars & step-brother, Enoch “E.J.” Sellars. In 1987 Donna adopted Eric “Festus”, Allison, & Sarah Mickelson. In 1991 they were joined by a new baby brother, Ryan. Allison entered Richland Elementary in Abercrombie, ND and graduated from Richland High School in Colfax, ND with the Class of 1994. While attending RHS she was active in Band, Cheerleading, Slow-pitch Softball and Basketball. Allison then attended MSUM in Moorhead, MN receiving a Bachelor’s degree in the Mass Communications Program. While attending MSUM she interned at The Forum newspaper in Fargo and upon graduation began full time employment there. In January of 2012 she accepted a new job at Clinical Systems Management in Fargo (CSM). On July 25, 2009, Allison married her best friend, Aaron Deutscher in a beautiful outdoor wedding at the Riverboat in Bismarck, ND. on January 21, 2011. Brielle Faith, a special blue-eyed baby girl was born to this union. Allison was so very proud of the 25 consecutive years that she had played on a softball team beginning in the elementary grades and continuing until the time of her death. Another event that she was proud to have been a part of was the Fargo Marathon. An amazing feat in this area was the fact that she ran and completed the 2011 half marathon without stopping—just 4 months after bringing Brielle into this world by way of “C” section! Her sister-in-law Alyssa had the privilege of running with her. Allison had attended church in her youth with her family and continued as an adult member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.
