Dave's greatest joy in life involved spending time with his children and grandchildren, being the best grandpa he could be. He also shared the passion for running and triathlon with his wife, Amy. He ran 7 marathons including the Boston Marathon in 2011, as well as numerous other races. Dave's loving and caring personality was evident by anyone who crossed his path. His precise attention to detail and his relentless pursuit of excellence was evident in the success he had in all phases of his life. Dave had a smile that could brighten any room and a laugh that will never be forgotten by those that he knew and loved.

Contributing Factors in Crash: Bicyclist, Hit by a distracted driver
Crash Details:
Dave was struck from behind and killed while biking by a distracted driver who was texting on Highway 81 north of Grandin, ND the morning of June 21, 2014. Dave was on the home stretch of a 100 mile training ride in preparation for the Boulder IRONMAN Triathlon in August.
