FAQ
How can I create a memorial for my loved one?
To create a Memorial, you must be an immediate family member (child, mother, father, brother, sister, spouse).
What is the purpose of this Memorial Wall?
The purpose of this Memorial Wall is to provide a venue for families and friends to memorialize those killed in a motor vehicle crash in North Dakota. These memorials will personalize the motor vehicle crash to the public by communicating real-life stories for educational purposes.
This Memorial Wall will assist in developing a network of victim advocates who may share their experiences with other families who have lost a loved one, volunteer to assist with media and policy advocacy, speaking engagements, and other public information and education opportunities at the family’s desired level of participation.
This Memorial Wall will also provide NDDOT Districts an alternative recommendation for families to use instead of roadside memorials.
Who created this site?
North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT)
How do I leave a comment?
Use the "Add Comment" form below the memorial.
Why do I need to provide my information to create a Memorial?
Obtaining your information is one way to verify the submission and ensure that the Memorial is attributed to you. We want to make sure the content is appropriate and ensure people are accountable for what they upload. This is also an opportunity to connect with other families or become a traffic safety advocate.
What if I see something inappropriate on this page?
If you see inappropriate content, please notify us by clicking "Contact Us," found on the Vision Zero homepage. Please keep your comments courteous and appropriate on this Memorial Wall. NDDOT reserves the right to refuse a Memorial Wall post or comments if they contain any of the following:
Profanity, obscenity, or vulgarity including suggestive spellings
Threats, hate speech, or personal attacks
Sexual content or links to sexual content
Defamation or discrimination against any person, community, or organization
Solicitation, advertisement or spam
Political or commercial endorsement or opposition
Copyright infringement
Promotion of an illegal activity
NDDOT maintains safeguards to protect personal information and requires persons or organizations within and outside of NDDOT to maintain the confidentiality of personal information and protect it while hosting and managing this page.
Why didn’t my Memorial and/or comment appear immediately?
Memorials and comments will be reviewed by NDDOT prior to being posted on the wall. Review of the memorial can take up to 10 business days. If denied, an explanation will be given and there will be an opportunity to resubmit.
I want to change the picture and/or content on a Memorial. How can I do this?
If you want to make changes to the content/photo on a Memorial, you will need to submit your request to
ndcrashmemorial@nd.gov
as changes cannot be made by the participant.
