About Paulette Meduna

Date of Birth: 06/04/1953

Hometown: South Heart ND

Paulette was a grandmother, daughter, sister, wife, dog lover and mother. She always put her kids first even if we didn’t realize it at the time. She loved her dogs. They joined her that day on the highway. She was a hardworking woman who was loyal to her jobs and made friends wherever she went. Her loves of her life were definitely her grandkids. She still watches them and the new additions from above and we can always feel her presence. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Charles Meduna, for 41 years. We miss her everyday but have the memories that we will never forget.

Crash Details

Crash Date: 07/18/2013

Crash Location: Highway 22 North of New England

Contributing Factors in Crash: Passenger, Wearing a seat belt

Crash Details:
While traveling northbound to go camping in Shadehill S.D. from Dickinson, my parents were pulling their camper. It was a windy day. After a semi-truck passed a mail truck traveling Southbound, the draft from the wind caught the empty mail truck and the driver over corrected into their lane and hit them. The camper was pushed up through the cab of the pickup. My mom and dad were able to speak a bit and many people passing by rallied together to make my mom comfortable while waiting for the ambulance. She was stuck in the vehicle. My dad thankfully did not have any life threatening injuries. He did have a long road to recovery from some injuries to his foot. Mom was pronounced dead on the scene after being pulled from the vehicle. In the crash, their dogs, Charlie and Ozzie were also deceased. We are grateful that the driver of the other vehicle was not injured and that we could have lost both of our parents. It truly was found to be an accident and so many peoples lives were changed that day. Hold your loved ones close is a saying people use, take it to heart.
