Teen Driver Safety Week is Oct. 15-21
For Immediate Release: Oct 12 2023
BISMARCK, N.D. – As National Teen Driver Safety Week approaches Oct. 15-21, Vision Zero is asking parents and guardians to have a conversation with teens about safe driving habits.
No matter what vehicle teens drive or how long they have had their license, it’s important to remind them of ways to stay safe behind the wheel. Some of the greatest dangers for teen drivers are alcohol and other drug use, inconsistent or no seat belt use, distracted driving, speeding and driving with passengers in the vehicle.
Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for teens (15-18 years old) in the United States. Vision Zero Outreach Coordinators are working in schools across North Dakota to reduce serious injuries and fatalities among teens by improving driving behaviors.
