The Vision Zero Partner Summit is an annual event that brings together hundreds of 4E partners in education, enforcement, engineering, emergency medical services and other partners to provide information, best practices, and networking opportunities to build partner capacity to advance Vision Zero in North Dakota.
The Summit includes presentations on hot topics, keynote speakers, updates on Vision Zero, and an awards ceremony for those who showed outstanding service and dedication to accomplish the overall goal of reducing motor vehicle fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roads.

Keynote Speaker: Andy Pilgrim
Andy Pilgrim is a professional race car driver and the founder of the Traffic Safety Education Foundation. Pilgrim discussed his experience and lessons learned from being a professional race car driver and how the 4 E's (Engineering, Enforcement, Education, and EMS) work together to reduce fatalities and injuries.
The Anatomy of a Triple Fatality Crash
On October 29, 2011 Taylor Berhow of Mandan, ND, chose to drive after drinking alcohol. With that choice, Taylor killed three of his best friends and seriously injured another who were all passengers in his vehicle. Taylor was sentenced to eight years in prison.
The first panel was made up of the heroic first responders who responded to this horrific crash as well as the mother of Trevor Erie who died that night. The second panel was made up of Taylor, the driver of the crash, along with his parents, Tim and Pam Berhow.
Presentation: Drones for Motor Vehicle Emergency and Crash Response
Experts from Burleigh and Morton County Sheriff's Department, NDDOT, and Frontier Precision presented on how drones can be of use during motor vehicle emergency and crash responses. They demonstrated 3D modeling of crash sites, how drones can assist in emergency operations, and the benefit of thermal cameras.
The Summit included an awards ceremony for those that showed outstanding service and dedication to accomplish the overall goal of Vision Zero, to eliminate motor vehicle crash fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roads.
