Blue Flint Ethanol/Midwest Ag Energy

Blue Flint Ethanol/Midwest Ag Energy coordinated a highway traffic safety event the first week of May 2016. In the beginning, this was intended to be a small traffic safety event, but it quickly snowballed with numerous traffic safety advocates wishing to participate. The event consisted of the following displays: ND Safety Council Train/Car crash; ND Highway Patrol Roll Over Simulator; Wells County Seat Belt Convincer; and the Deutscher Family Display.

The Wilton North Dakota American Legion Post 163 donated vehicles and drivers to transport the displays from point of origin, between each site and back to their points of origin. Great River Energy and Midwest Ag Energy donated cash to pay for cookies, soft drinks, water and during each stop; and meals and gas for the drivers moving and setting up each display. The ND Highway Patrol transported the Deutscher Family Display.

The displays were set up at Blue Flint Ethanol, Great River Energy and Coal Creek station one day, the following day they were set up at Washburn Public School in the morning, and Wilton Public school in the afternoon. The displays were open to the public at both school locations.

The next day all the displays were taken to Dakota Spirit Agency/Midwest Ag Energy and set up for the viewing of DSA and Great River Energy employees in Spiritwood North Dakota.

All the displays were viewed by more than 800 employees, students, parents of students and the general public. This was a very successful collaborative effort between Public, Private and Law Enforcement departments involving McLean County Sheriff’s Department, ND Highway Patrol, ND Safety Council, Midwest Ag Energy/Blue Flint Ethanol/Dakota Spirit Agency, Great River Energy/Coal Creek Station, Falkirk Mine, Wilton Public School, Washburn Public School and Wilton American Legion Post 163.
